The most common cause in Keratoconus is the loss of collagen in the cornea but the definitive keratoconus diagnosis is still unknown. Research shows that the predisposition to develop the disease is present at birth.
Keratoconus occurs when the dome-shaped front surface of your eye thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. The cone-shaped cornea usually causes blurred vision and sensitivity to light. There are generally two ways of treatment depending on stages of Keratoconus:
