Pelvic congestion syndrome is a chronic disease that occurs in women when varicose veins form in the pelvic area below the abdomen. Varicose veins are swollen, twisted and elongated veins due to poor venous function. The syndrome often causes blunt pelvic pain that may worsen at different times and in different situations. Women who give birth to the child is more prone towards to develop the pelvic syndrome. Experts estimate that 30% of women with chronic pelvic pain can cause pain.
