Asking for Mother, Female, 50 years old, Karachi

AOA. Sir my mother is a diabetic and Blood pressure patient. During past 2 years both my khalas passed away. There is a history of heart diseases from her paternal side. My mother is an active lady but she complains about her heart beat these days "Dil zoor se dharkta hai ESA Lagta hai pattay (leaf) ki tarha Hil raha. Aur even koi door bhi zor se band hota hai to kehti hai Dil Hil raha hai aisa lagta" Even her heart beats gets fast by loud noise. One of my khalas has recently passed away so she is also in sort of trauma. But considering the history in family what step should I take for my mother? Please advise

WoA ! Based on the history her symptoms seems to be stressed associated. But she has strong risk factors for heart. She should get herself assessed by a cardiologist to rule out any underlying heart disease. This will require a detailed history , examination followed by some tests. Thanks.

The history you’re telling is more of a post-traumatic stress and anxiety. Though it is not related directly to any heart problem right now. But you can get your mother worked up later when this all settles. Just continue medicines for blood pressure and diabetes and see if both of these are controlled.
