Aoa.

Hypertension once diagnosed and labelled is then a lifelong treatment meaning you have tendency of increased BP, so whenever you will leave the treatment it will remain stable for few days due to drug effects in the body and then will suddenly shoot as the guards were removed from the system. The other problem with non compliance to treatment is that your BP tends to resist to treatment and it takes more time and at times higher doses with multiple drug combinations to bring your BP back in normal range.

The other problem with non compliance and shooting blood pressures is sudden life threatening organ damage for example CVA, major heart attack, aortic dissection, acute kidney failure, sudden blindness etc etc.

consult your cardiologist again so that your treatment can be reviewed and adjusted again and make sure you do not repeat this mistake of quitting your BP medications no matter how normal your blood pressure is as it is due to medication effect.

hope this helps.
