Asking for Husband, Male, 37 years old, Rawalpindi
My husband recently experienced another severe attack of syncope after 2016. He had been admitted for a week in cardiology centre although ETT, ECG, Ctngo all are clear but he's now experiencing blood pooling in legs almost every other day ariund 3-4 am. During his first tilt table test he got fainted and in another which was done recently three days ago he didn't pass out but his heartbeat dropped below the average. Is there any treatment we can do during syncope attack .he is doing some excercises which doctors recommended him and inderal tab twice daily.
vasovagal syncope or reflex syncope hve no specific treatment, it is benign nd harmless but u should avoid prolong standing esp in hot envirnmnt nd crowd and drink plenty of water. he can do certain excercises including foot exercise and walking, other posibilty if ur husband feel any episode can lie down to avoid any injury. If he developed recurrent episodes of syncope even after all precautions nd treatment.. there is role of pacemaker as per consultation of electrophysiologist..
Exercises, stockings, avoiding triggers and medicines are treatment options. If all of these fail, a pacemaker can be implanted to prevent fainting.
Continue with exercises, which is the best treatment for vasovagal. But may i see his other reports like echo, holter testing ? Has he ever had cardiac MRI ?
He is 37 years old and at this younger age this kind of syncopal attacks are not common. We need to review the detail clinical history and all investigations including Holter test.
