Asking for Self, Male, 23 years old, Karachi
A.O.A I have Knock knees issue from childhood because of which I can't walk straight (gait) I would like to go for surgery can I go for surgery of both legs at same time I am worry about will I am able to go to washroom by my own after surgery. How much time will it take to be normal after surgery. What are the drawbacks of Knock knee surgery is this dangerous and painful. Will this be one time surgery or after some years I do it again and what will be the average cost of surgery for both legs? Kindly reply thanks
I will suggest to go for surgery one side at a time. Bone healing take at least 6-12 weeks. During this u will not be able to bear weight on your operated leg so better do one at a time.
xray needed before any of this question can be answered
Hello , you should visit orthopaedic Surgeon , he will see your xrays and will solve your problem, one one at one time will be good
knocking knees develop as a child grows. and deformity start appearing only after child starts walking. you need a good quality xrays of both lower limbs including your hip joints and all the down to feet in standing position. these will guide us deciding the type of surgery and the amount of correction. single properly performed surgery is enough for each limb. recovery needs bone healing as well as your cooperation and compliance during rehabilitative physical therapy sessions.
Difficult to stay without proper consultation what kind of procedure is required
Share Xrays plz
ct scanogram
or at least full length x rays of both legs.
single step surgery needed usually no revision at your age
weight bearing possible after a while.
i prefer surgery of 1 knee at 1 time so can easy go washroom. it will be 1 time surgery .no need of second surgery. 6-12 wks required to b normal after surgery. not dangerous. averege cost is 4o thousand.
Need proper examination and investigation to reach the cause and then any decision to do any intervention.
AOA, you need to discuss all above questions with orthopaedic surgeon who has advised you for surgery, he shall explain to you in detail, such discussion takes more than 20 min and can not be done on chat. Thanks
