Was the tooth root canal treated ? If yes how was the rct ? I mean the quality it could be a missing canal or persistent infection. Need to see a periapical xray to confirm diagnosis.

swelling in gums is related to infection in more then 1 tooth at the tip of Root& requires a small dental x-ray for exact diagnosis. Also tell if the tooth crowned was root canalled or not
kindly visit a dentist for complete diagnosis and treatment. in the mean time u can do salt water warm rinses 3 to 4 timed per day and take soft diet.
