Asking For Other, Male 35, karachi
A patient aged 35 has lower right horizontally impacted wisdom .having pain. went to the dental surgeon he suggested extraction and told him that there was a 5 percent chance of nerve damage however another dentist recommended the removal of some part of the tooth, sparing the part near the nerves. I need to know which procedure should i go for. I m confused.
Although possibility of nerve damage exists when done by the wardman flap and coronectomy procedure you can minimize the risk of nerve damage and extract the whole tooth. Also should recommend bone graft to be placed in socket for early healing
yes there are chances for nerve damage, i will advise you to visit a Maxillofacial Surgeon for extraction. Try to reach the specialist. you can visit us aswell. we have a team of specialists.
Visit the clinic or contact on this number, I’ll guide you.
consult with oral and maxillofacial surgeon
Treat according to the chance of nerve damage and pain and severity of the symptoms of that tooth .
As a dentist I am suggesting extract both upper and lower 3rd molars. And seems like less chance of nerve damage so go for complete removal of the impacted one
it can be extracted completely without nerve damaging
Kindly do CBCT , which is a 3 dimensional x ray , it will show the accurate distance between the tooth and the nerve .
it can be extracted without nerve damage by surgical procedure.you should visit oral maxillofacial surgeon.
It is advised to go for a CBCT view to locate nerve path and reassure the nerve involvement with the tooth anatomically then go for safe extraction reducing the chances of nerve damage further
I think there is good distance between nerve & tooth root.extraction would be safe.however u can get CBCT to confirm this as precaution.
The impacted tooth can be removed surgically without damaging the nerve....go for the complete removal of impacted tooth. For more caution go for CBCT first to confirm the pathway of nerve and the distance between the nerve and the tooth...
