Braces, Karachi
I got braces in January 2016 with one misaligned teeth and open bite issue. However, during the past 3 years, no extractions were done by my dentist. As of now, I can notice quite evidently that my midline is quite misaligned as well. The dentist had been using power chains and focused on slicing my tooth in order to create space for the teeth to move back. However, the progress I see is quite slow and I am not really sure if the treatment being done is correct or not. Also, during this treatment, I developed a TMJ disorder which makes it much more difficult for me to bite the food. Can you please guide as to what should be a better treatment for open-bite? (Except for a surgery)
yes there are few ways to treat that.. besides surgery ...
you'll need to visit for complete evaluation
yes 3year is a long period and slicing in not a good option. you can take my appointment. after proper examination I can tell you the best possible options.
You should visit for evaluation
There is space for teeth to move back.. why the lower teeth were not given braces ...???? I think two teeth have to be extracted and then midline and more alignment of teeth can be accomplished ... you need to have a second opinion.
Dear seems like there is a major flaw in treatment plan by your visit another specialist for second opinion
Clinical visit is required for this . Lower bracketing should be done for further procedure.
Your treatment plan needs correction , your occlusion is tilting towards the right side as well (occlusal kenting)thats why tmj problem initiated, your lower arch bracketing needs to be done to correct open bite.
Brother everything is possible with mordern dentistry dont worry.. i would like to have a look at your xrays both opg and your age is important key.. kindly visit for proper planning.
