it could be because a condition called dry mouth or Xerostomia. mostly associated with medications she might be taking for other medical problems. in any case required thorough examination and patient's detailed medical history. if you can't visit the dentist right away then at least go for an online consultation. might be helpful

ma'am kindly visit dentist for detail systemic review and examination and then your gp or gastroenterologist too. meanwhile make your mother use dairy products alot like curd milk lassi. Give her folic acid 2 tablets 3 times a day and surbex Z once daily. and give her antacid mecum esso risek if she's taking any antacid change it for better results. avoid spicy food too and hard food.

small grains are naturally present on the tongue however painful cracks are of concern. do they bleed often? does she complain of dryness in her mouth? what types of foods does she take? before reaching certain diagnosis she needs few lab tests and may be biopsy. for all this you must consult nearby expert oral surgeon. I would suggest to take her to a teaching dental school for her thorough check up and proper evaluation and treatment.

Aoa , kindly visit a dentist as soon as possible. Systemic conditions are also important. If she have stomach acidity and ulcers than get proper treatment for that . Also go for diabetes evaluation. There is also hormonal changes at this age due to menopause.

It's better to visit a dentist/Maxillofacial Surgeon fir proper check up & treatment. At this age it may be due many causes.
yes...the problem may be because of stomach but treatment should be symptomatic...needs to follow a regimn of medicine for 2 months with change in medicine every 10th day...pain and burning will settle down with 2nd round of medicine.
