Asking For Self, Female 30, karachi
I had a throbbing toothache few months back and i consulted a dentist. He suggested pain killers on the basis of xray. It was ok for then. but now i am.again having the same.issue. its a throbbing pain. it is few seconds only and then it vanishes. its really uncomforting. Please suggest. Also, i am breastfeeding my 14 months old kid.
kindly share the Xray (periapical) of that tooth.
Kindly share the picture of that XRAY
Asalam u alaikum , well if its for few seconds and only occurs while eating or any thing can trigger it then it definitely needs treatment depending on xray .This needs to be treated by rct
It needs permanent treatment. No qualified dentist will just prescribe painkillers without actually treating the cause. This will either need a deep filling or a root canal treatment. Please don't take unnecessary pain killers
Throbbing pain can be due to a cavity, tooth fracture, tooth decay or the infection of the tooth and the surrounding gums.
So treatment varies according to the diagnosis. A tooth may need a new restoration, Root canal treatment, deep Scaling or in worst case extraction. So, if you send your x-ray, diagnosis can be made easily and kindly tell is there a history of bleeding gums, pus or infection in a tooth.
Moreover you can use Chlorhexidine mouthwash ( Listerine) and warm saline rinses( if you don't have high blood pressure). It helps to reduce inflammation.
please visit your nearby consultant. painkillers are not the best solution.
consultation with dentist for proper diagnosis is advised.
Dear patient, you need to see a dentist for further assessment and treatment. Whether tooth can be saved by RCT or needs extraction.
