Asking For Father, Male 88, lahore
My father is 88 years, about 3-4 days he feels pain in his back tooth but he didn't tell and today he feels more pain....there are only 4 teeth in his mouth which are totally damaged....now pain seems a little bit fine...in this situation what to do... which medication should be use. and is removal of these teeth safe in such age?
hello. yes teeth removal is safe we will just need a complete medical hisotry. if he js on any blood thinners then an additional coagulation profile(blood test) is needed. safest pain killer is panadol, since u have not mentioned his medical history. stronger pain killers shpuld be given only after a consult with the dentist
at this age its better to remove the reaming 4 theeth and then go for removable denture
if the present teeth are in good condition with their support fixed denture is other option available for that you need to visit the dentist
for pain you can use OTC painkillers
Removal of these teeth can be done n is safe. Cap Dromax500mg 1+1
Tab Inflamatix 100 mg 1+1
Tab Proxen 500mg 1+1.... all for 5 days.
Yes but before the crown we need to assess the root canal through an xray and clinical examination
remove the teeth in phases and make a complete denture
Yes removal of teeth is completely safe in this age, incase he is diabetic or hypertensive we will check his vitals and can easily proceed with the treatment
- Its better for you to get a consultation at the clinic
Removal of teeth is totally safe before that brief medical history of medicines he takes BP sugar need to be monitored. Then he can go for prosthesis.

You can call on this number for online consultation if its not easy for the patient to come to the clinic. 042-32591427, , 042-32591427,
Please get an OPG done. Are the teeth mobile, what is his medical condition. Get his examination from a dentist. Tooth might need extraction if it's compromised but first his medical evaluation.

You should get a full mouth Xray (OPG) done. There can be an infection under his tooth. If the tooth is not mobile then RCT can be initiated. Can you kindly share his medical history, which medications is he taking? Extraction can be performed after knowing about the type of medications that he’s taking.

In that case, he might have a gum disease too, which is common in people taking casodex. However, extraction is pretty safe, keeping in view this medical history.

Dr was saying that there is pus at examination....he said there would be complication if one tooth will remove as it can infect the other 2 teeth.....whats ur opinion? should we extract in this case.

His dentist might’ve taken a radiograph, if you have the picture can you kindly share it with me? In my opinion there should be nothing wrong in extraction if a proper antibiotic cover is given along with it and if the adjacent teeth do not have any periapical infection (but this can be confirmed through a radiograph)

check in at a dental office nearby
More than age, his existing medical conditions would have an impact on the sort of treatment that may be performed. If he is in pain, give him any OTC painkiller and visit any nearby dentist for evaluation. Do take a long his medicine prescriptions/ reports/x-rays if you have any.
it depends k koi medical history toh ni ha apk father ki, plus OPG krwaain gy toh better idea hoga, Plus depend krta ha k apk father ki oral hygiene kesi ha
please visit your nearby dentist and get a proper dental check up
Please visit a dentist and don’t use medication without physical examination by a professional dentist
better removal of these teeth... and much better if you let us see in clinic
Yes get rid of the trouble definitely at this age
if you are in Lahore visit clinic
free check up
Removal of the tooth is safe regardless of patient's age. however, it is better that you also mention any comorbids/medical history along with the complain.
treatment options may include root canal and saving the tooth if those are restorable. If not, those can be extracted and a complete denture can be given to your father so he shall be able to eat again.
