Asking for Father, Male, 64 years old, ISLAMABAD
my father accidentally bit his tongue, the wound was painful. we took him to doctor he gave two creams to apply on the wound and diagnosed lateral border ulcer. its been 2-week wound is much better now... not painful but still not completely recovered. please help if there is anything to be worried about. picture of the wound and perception attached for reference.
It will go away try to have less spicy food for a few days and keep applying gel. He can also use a mouthwash regularly to help in fast healing
If the ulcer is showing signs of healing, than don’t worry at all! Just give it a couple of more weeks time at least.
AoA' if the healing is in progress than no need to be worried, but if it remain same fr more than 2 weeks than u hv to go for biopsy, treatment is fine,continue it till the ulcer healed. and a/c to u if its regressing than it will be fine in few days, one thing ask your father if any sharp edge of tooth on the affected side, if its thre than consult nearest dentist or maxfac surgeon,.
any ulcer not responding to local treatment for more than two weeks.you need to visit maxillofacial surgeon
apparently ulcer seems not in bad condition
if its healing just keep it under observation
avoid eating hard n spicy food
