Generally the dark marks go away within 4-6 months from the body and takes a little longer to go away from the face. I am sure you might have noticed that the colour has faded a bit in the last 2 months.

However in some people the marks even in the body persist for several months to years. This depends on your original skin colour. If your are a fair skinned person the marks go away quickly but if your are a dark skinned person, it may take a very long time.
My advice is do not apply bleaching creams etc because at the end of the day they makes the skin darker.
Just stay indoors during the sunlight hours and if you have to go out, just cover your face with a scarf or dopatta to avoid exposure to sunlight direct and indirect both.
Regards
