Are these insect bites or some sort of allergy? These are on my legs and thighs and feel like mosquito bites and itch a lot.

Not insect bite.. Something else..
Yes they can be insect bites or they are infection of the hair roots. Both these conditions looks the same and both are very itchy. You need to see a Dermatologist for clinical examination and treatment.
possibly mosquito bite
take tab fexet 180mg one daily for itching
fucidin-H cream apply on affected area 2 to 3 5 times. use the above for 7 days
