Asking for Mother, Female, 59 years old, Karachi
My mother is diabetes type 2 patient she is taking medicine inosita 50 mg from almost 3 months she was taking another medicine before but that wasn't suits her stomach was disturbed that s why now dr. Changed her medicine replace with inosita 50 mg taking once in a day but now like from 3 to 4 days her sugar is increasing on fasting or random. Kindly suggest me a good diabetes doctor and also want to know that this inosita is harmful for kidney? She is taking just 1 time dose 50 mg . If she takes twice time dose in a day is that good for health for kidney?
If you are concerned about kidneys , you must tell the duration of her diabetes and if needed we will ask you to to her renal function tests, can you share her fasting sugar levels plz.
Please get her HBA1C tested. First line for diabetes management is lifestyle modification then medications. Please don’t increase the dose without the permission of the doctor, it will head to hypoglycaemia and brain death. Book an appointment for detailed consultation, thanks.
The medicine is fine. Kindly take Inosita 50 mg, 30 minutes before breakfast. and kindly add Tab. Glucophage 500 mg, 30 minutes before Dinner. This will give better control.
More over add walk for 30 minutes before breakfast and 30 minutes after dinner .
