Asking for Self, Female, 28.5 years old, Rawalpindi
I'm really really depressed about something which is the reason I've turned to this platform. Recently, I observed a few changes in my body which are not very pleasant. Firstly, I started to go bald on and around the forehead ( the male pattern baldness), I always always, as long as I can remember, had hairfall issues too but recently it reached an alarming state where the baldness is very apparent. Then I also had irregularity with my periods. Though I'm almost skinny from the waist up, I've stubborn fat around my waist. No matter how much I try it just doesn't go away. I'm pale and anaemic (with an hb of 11, the last time i got it checked). With all these problems when I tried searching on my own I concluded I could either be suffering from hypothyroid or pcos. Under these circumstances, do I need to consult a medical specialist or a gynaecologist ??? TIA.

Hi Thanks for query. I’m an endocrinologist and I’ll be advising you to see an endocrinologist who will take your more detailed history and examine you , after making his provisional diagnosis he may ask for few blood tests including levels of Harmon, ultrasound and other imaging if necessary.
It is better to consult an endocrinologist.
It would be best to consult a medical specialist, who can then refer you to an endocrinologist if he deems it necessary
