Assalam o Alaikum ENT specialist & Audiologist,
I have a hearing issue since almost 12 years. My hearing capacity was decreasing consistently over time and last year i realised that now treatment is the only option to survive then i started wearing hearing aids in my right ear after checkup with specialist and their advice.
Everything was fine till 1 year. but now since 2 days i am feeling that my right ear is off, very little sound entering. i am unable to understand others words now. Very very difficult to communicate with others.
I think the cause is wearing hearing aids because i didn't see too much change in past 11 years compare to last 1 year before wearing hearing aids. I'm using simple hearing aids (no noise reduction). Now hearing aid not giving me desire benefit.
What do you suggest me to continue wearing hearing aids or go for check-up and choose other alternatives rather than hearing aids?
there are multiple reasons behind your issue. for example constant wearing hearing aids causes impacted wax in EAC. Its removal might help you. secondly it's quite possible your hearing aid is malfunctioning. and yes there is a chance your hearing level decreased further. so you need a proper ENT examination and management. good luck.
