Cataract In Blind Eye

Question

i have no vision in left eye since birth and the left one is -12 now i have cataract in the left eye which is already blind so should i go for surgery or leave it like this becos my dr has told me if i go for surgery then it can affect the right eye vision and i can become completly blind
