Asking for Self, Female, 30 years old, Karachi
I want to ask about femto lasik, have heard that there are risks involved therefore doctors don't opt this fr themselves, plus are there any.better options for vision correction ? Like orthokeratology or any procedure ? please guide me about this, Thanks in advance
Femto is a FDA approved procedure. Literature support both conventional and Femto lasik surgery equally. If your number is above -6 than you are on yellow zone. Refractive surgery is a cosmetic surgery ( with some exceptions). If your vision is ok with glasses than glasses are the safest mode of treatment. Regards
Femolasik is safe procedure, approved by FDA, patient selections is important and preoperative assessment is very much necessary, operation complications risk is very low.
Femtolasik is giving better results if doing second and third decades of life, because after age of 40 years a normal individual needs reading glasses, so if you doing laser near age of 40,patient need reading glasses so patient not enjoy his life without glasses, that why eye doctors which are usually near or above 40 years of age not do laser themselves.
