My uncle works at a Gear making factory. when he was working with a machine he got a piece of metal(probably iron) in his eye . That ruptured his eye ...
So we rushed to a local hospital, where they stitched the wound in the eye because of the blood coming out. ...i have talked to the doctor here he said to wait a week so wound heals and also told us that he has high chances of losing his eye... after a week they will operate and take out the metal shard from the eye ...
i was worried about that long wait and was thinking that the metal piece can cause more infection ...so i need some suggestions
i have also scheduled an appointment with the relevant doctor. but till then i need someone to explain me ... i would be very grateful for your responses Thanks
Metal object when hit such a force to Pearce the eye ball usually non infectious but the rupture point is the source of all infection because inner eye is exposed to outer environment so immediately eye should be closed and refer to Vitreoretinal surgeon

Thanks dr rizwan for your reply ...
yes the wound was stitched soon ... and yesterday we visited islamabad eye center ...doctor said he will be fine after a major procedure ..following removal of metal shard and removing the cataract caused by that strong hit .... Doctor also told us that there isn't any infection caused by it because of being stitched timely ..so everything will be fine and his eyesight will be restored after procedure.
Thanks for your response
