Asking for Father, Male, 54 years old, Malir Cantonment, Karachi

My father is experiencing blurry vision since 1 month, he's diabetic and high blood pressure patient with high cretanine level. He got his OCT done and dr said he has cataract in his both eyes also retina is effected due to diabetes. He suggested 6 injection shots of Avastin per week and then he will do cataract surgery. I want more suggestion, should he go for surgery first or injection? Or any medication for retina recovery ? Will his vision back to normal or any other treatment would do?

As per research cataract surgery may also have reason for progression of diabetic retinopathy and DME injection will provide cover to patient before and after cataract surgery

First go for avastin and then cataract surgery and vision recovery also depend on control of diabetes and blood pressure

First you go for avastin because retina health is most important for good Vision. If retina is healthy then cataract surgery will give good results.
As you told Dr. suggest Avastin injection then go for it.
