Asking For Self, Female 28, Chakwal
In June last year I visited a gynaecologist to get checked for pcos, acne and hormone imbalance. She recommended some tests and did my ultrasound. I was told that I have few cysts in my one ovary but the hormonal tests were all good and showed no Imbalance. She put me on some medication. One of which was Yaz tablets.( used it for 2 months) I had clear skin for 3 months after medication but in December acne came back. there was few pimples in start but now every day 2 3 pimples pop up. I want to ask if Yaz is birth control? can the acne be the side affects of coming off birth control.? what Will the treatment and whom should i visit? Gynaecologist, dermatologist or endocrinologist? I never had this severe acne before. I can't look at myself in mirror. please help
Yes they are birth control tablets. Yes acne can be due to hormonal imbalance. Visit a dermatologist please, gynecologist if you are having issues with your monthly cycles or relevant. Was Yaz prescribed for only two months or did you stop it on your own?
for proper diagnosis and management need to be visited by a senior general physician specialist or gynaecologist
