Doctor, my father's blood pressure is consistently high. We are concerned about his health and would like to discuss possible treatment options and lifestyle changes to help manage his hypertension. I would suggest taking his blood pressure readings regularly for a week atleast twice a day along with his regular medications. Then see how and what needs to be done regarding his medication regimen

plz tell me about the BP monitoring
After taking these medicines, what are the measurements, Since how long he has diagnosed with hypertension
about life style modification
1) if he is healthy enough to walk in a street
or park minimum 15 minutes walk recommended
avoid using canola/Desi ghee use Olive oil for cooking
maintain balanced salt restriction not to much salt not too less, avoid uncooked salt
take adequate sleep minimum of 8 hours,
eat more vegetables especially green colour vegetables, avoid beef/mutton or take them fortnightly

Hi Dr Faraz, He is taking above mentioned medicine since 2 years. Monitoring bp since then but from last two weeks bp reading is constant ie 160 by 85. Alhumdulillah he is active. We avoid beef and mutton. For cooking we use Eva canola oil.

16/85 BP is moderately high
you are using Valtec 80mg ( valsartin 80mg ) and Norvasc 5mg (Amlodipine 5 mg )
now you can use a single tablet a day containing both of these salts Covam 5/160mg (Amlodipine/Valsartin)
use this medicine once a day preferably in morning
and monitor the Bloop pressure daily
