Talk to General Physician on Cardiac Patient With High Creatinine And Urea

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 52 years old, Lahore

52 years old patient(male) has been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis with LV dilation. Aortic valve replacement was planned. But before doing angiograpy doctors came to know that patients RFTs values are high(creatinine: 2.7 and Urea: 80). They refused to do angiograpy and AVR until the values return to normal or near normal. Echocardiogram and RFTs are attached below. Doctors here on this forum please advise me what to do next. Should we consult a nephrologist, if yes, then please refer me a nephrologist for this patient. Thanks

yes you should consult a nephrologist because hopefuly this creat will revert back to normal or near normal with proper treatment. plus surgery for a.s is not an emergency procedure you should wait for rft s to get normal

Thanks Dr sahiba. How long will take to come to normal, any rough idea? Does this patient need to be admitted in the hospital or just outdoor Ix+ Rx is enough.

No need for admission can be easily controlled on outdoor basis plus cant specify duration because it varies from patient to patient and how compliant he is. Generally with a strict control roughly takes 1 to 2 months

aoa.
you can consult any general physician or nephrologist.
if patient is not a kidney patient then no need to worry about. these values will take few days and will be within normal range.
ultimate solution for this cardiac condition is surgery. but once lab values are within normal range.
