Talk to General Physician on Chronic Cough

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Male, 25 years old, Australia

Last year, I developed a chronic cough that lasted nearly 6 weeks. After some time, I was prescribed an antibiotic and I always drank a lot of peppermint tea both of which helped me heal. After few months, I developed cough again which has lingered a little bit till now. It’s sometimes dry sometimes phlegmy. I was prescribed antibiotics again, after 1 week of finishing antibiotics I was feeling better but still used to cough once in a while. My doctor prescribed me Ventolin inhaler as he thought it might be related to Asthma. I think Ventolin worked a little. Overall, I don’t have much cough now but once in a while I do cough and my throat is very sensitive to cold food/drink. My doctor believes I should take a preventer. What should I do?
