usually , bed bound patients will continue to have slow bowel movements, you need to add fibers in his diet as well as do not wait more than 48 hours for his bowel movements. if he does not pass stool within 48 hours give him medicine. you can use either stimulant or stool softner. above prescribed medicine are uselful in this regard
