Asking for Father, Male, 54 years old, karachi
My father had fever for 5days about a week back. He was then completely fine and start going to office. Few of his office colleagues tested positive in the past week so admin asked my father to get tested too. Our general physician recommended him antibody test which came negative today. What should be done now? Should he go for pcr test or is this enough? As he is completely fine Alhumdullilah

Thank you.
He should get a PCR test which has to be repeated again after 24 hours for confirmation even if first test is positive. Even if both the times the test comes out negative he still needs to be in 14 days of quarantine as he could be a presymptimatic or asymptomatic carrier. Also as serology test can come negative in early stage and is not diagnostic. PCR is diagnostic.
