Patients started sudden fever on friday night 103, without any other symptoms.It was diagnosed as dengue on saturday with blood test , done CBC with platelet count of 211,000, fever was unable to be controlled for almost 48 hours with basic otc fever reducing medicine, pltelets count reduced to 68,000 on monday, symptoms began to subside, with fever reaching to 102-100, Current situation is fever is mostly controlled max reaching to 100 with little stomache discomfort, theoat pain with post nasal drip and fatigue, taking rest, and having juices, trying to maintain good hydration with liquids, latest CBc done yesterday platelets reached to 29,000, What should be the course of action now, should he be hospitalised, when will the platelets count start to increase, its 5th day now, plz guid thoroughly, unable to upload reports
How u diagnose dengue by serology ? wait till platelet increase hydrate him any soecific
go to a hospital for evaluation and further management
admit in hospital
post dengue fatigue and throat pain is common
repeat CBC tomorrow and observe the pattern of platelets count
observe for bleeding if any
till then continue with good hydration and take some good bed rest
plt count shows improvement usually after 7-8 days but if you observe a further drop in platelets that is below 20 then go to Hosp ER where they will admit you for observation and continue with the IV medication and regular platelets monitoring

If vomiting,pain abdomen ,low BP or bleeding from gums, skin pupuric red spots ,intense weakness report to hospital.
Continue Panadol and moderate amount of liquids by mouth.Do not overdrink water and liquids.
Soon the disease will reverse and platelets will start improving.
