Talk to General Physician on Dry Cough Since 4 Months
Asking For Self, Female 46, khairpur sindh
I m gynaecologist working on rural area, known case of DM taking amryl2mg bd and triviamet50/500mg bd, my xray chest is clear, COVID19 pcr is negative. D/H for cough. Antibiotics Augmentin, orelox, klaricid, moxi and azomax on diffrent times with Monti get, ebsten, rijix, zyretec and also dsltacortil 2+2 for a week. But cough is not relieving. No sputum. ENT specialist have done idl chest specialist says it's allergic cough plz suggest me further.

when this cough becomes severe,any diurnal variation,any relation to postural change,any family history of asthma or COPD,any history of recurrent sinusitis,have u had any xray chest,

Respected doctor as for as ur cough is concerned ,cough subside at the last stage of any chest diseases and u have already taken so many medications .better to do a pulmonary function test and that will be measuring ur lung capacities so go for it and then we will decide further for management plan

It appears to be cough variant asthma. GERD should also be ruled out. Get your HRCT chest to rule out ILD
Need to know more detail. What’s the timing of cough? And chest pain or bloody sputum with cough? recent weight loss? Problem of GERD? sinusitis? taking any ACE inhibitors? passive smoking ? any new carpets or pets at home? phx of eczema, allergic rhinitis?

Thanks for ur reply. I could have talked to u in detail if i had ur contact number. I wouldn’t advise to use any more antibiotics for a dry cough and it’s least likely to be infective. Instead go for a spirometery to exclude important causes.
