i had a suspected exposure on 31st may 2022 .. i have not gone for testing .. 33 days have passed and now for which hiv test should i go ?? i know antibody will not have formed in to the blood .. therefore for which lab test should i go ?? im really worried kindly tell.me which lab test will help me to detect whether i have contracted or not .. please .. !!

Did u have needle injury how u become expectedly infected? ELISA Test ELISA, which stands for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, is used to detect HIV infection. If an ELISA test is positive, the Western blot test is usually administered to confirm the diagnosis.

thnks dr sardar for the reply .. actually sir i was in the laboratory for my cbc test .. the unfortunate incident happen their was he mistakenly attached vaccumtube of the previous patient in which the blood was drawn .. the needle was new but he mistakenly connected the previous patient vaccumtube which is used to draw the blood

its been 35 days and i think the elisa test which u have mentioned is used to check antibody .. but sir will it detect antibodies in just 35 days ... i had asked agha khan they said now a days they are not doing 4th generation combo test

According to HIV.gov, a person can take a rapid antibody test 23 to 90 days after possible HIV exposure. If someone takes this test 4 weeks after exposure, a negative result may be accurate. Still, it's best to test again after 3 months to be sure.05-May-2022
