Asking for Mother, Female, 76 years old, Islamabad
1. 76 years old Female having history of diabetes , hypertension , low HB. having dry cough compliant for a week 2. admitted in emergency for respiratory distress and intubated .Diagnoses is of laryngeal Edema . No infection ( viral or bacterial ) found and no known source of allergy known 3. Patient in ICU on vent , being given steroids ( prednisolone) for 4 days .cuff leak test ( CLT) taken several times but negative . Edema is not settling down 4. Doctor prescribed to go for tracheostomy as do not want to take risk of ICU bugs/ infection due to prolonged stay on vent and in ICU Query : Wht could be best possible solution to the situation
