Asking For Other, Male 42, Karachi
AoA- My relative 42, male, was having fever for couple of days, doctor, after ruling out typhoid, malaria and other infections, doctor suspected abdominal TB, so some CT scans etc were performed. Doctor found lymph nodes in throat, and abdomin is clear. So doctor declared it TB in throat and registered him as TB patient and prescribed TB medicines. My question is should he be isolated and other family members get separate from him till his recovery?, doctor said no need. But other family members are scary as we have heard TB is catagious. Should a biopsy be done to rule out cancer suspect. Please concerned doctor give me some suggestions here. Thanks
need to be visited by an ENT specialist at first
kindly consult some with all the reports.
if the doctor is sure that this is tb and the tests are positive for it then no need for isolation just use separate utensils and ask him to wear a mask while sitting and talking to other people u can separate his toilet or always clean after him using the toilet
Biopsy of the neçk(cervical)
nodes with cultures of specimen for AFB is the cornerstone for diagnosis of tuberculosis
before any treatment is started.
