salam I am 28 years of age. my problem is that I feel weak all the time, excessively tired and fatigued. It related to my poor eating habits, whatever I eat I feel it doesn't gives me energy. I feel hunger only for 5 to 10 minutes if I eat meal except this time period I feel its not beneficial. my sleep is disturbed. I am losing my scalp hairs due to my nutritional inadequacy. my personal life is affected as well. My question is that what medications should I use to improve my digestion and assimilation so that I get max energy from the basics 3 meals I eat in a day. what medicines can improve my appetite. should I consult a psychiatrist for my sleep problems as well coz I do get low mood and apathy. kindly give me the best advice all of you kind people...

salam, yes you are right you need to consult a good psychiatrist who can treat your eating disorder well.
there is no medication which can be advised with out assessment and treatment and if it is an old issue it would take lots of commitment from your end to follow the advice of your consultant to treat and control the Sx you are worried about.
you may also need to see a good psychotherapist as well which can be advised by your consultant once you get in touch with them
hope this helps thanks

Wa Alikum Salam Dear:
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before I can just send you away to a psychiatrist. However, what I am sharing below is my thinking pattern below and not a diagnosis:
You are 28 years old but you have not shared your height and weight or your BMI. Feeling weak, tired and fatigued can be due to many reasons but you say you do not sleep well either so we need to keep Sleep Apnea in mind. If your BMI is in normal ranges you may have selective nutrients deficiency and not general malnutrition. So a physician needs to access your situation and a nutritionist may be helpful in defining a good diet for you.
Very few people actually need something to increase their appetite and mostly your body’s hunger centers tell you adequately when you need to take food. So I wouldn’t be too concerned about it if you have a normal BMI and are not losing weight and if your diet is serving you your daily micro and macro nutrients adequately.
Disturbed sleep also occurs because of lifestyle patterns. If you are on the screen too much; cell phone, tablets, laptops, tv, then your sleep pattern is going to remain disturbed. Especially if you are using them in later parts of evening or around bed time. Several studies indicate that the blue light from our screens keeps our brain thinking it is daytime and does not let the appropriate pineal gland secretions to allow proper sleep. If your screens go off at 9pm and the lights go dim, you should be able to sleep by 11pm.
Also remember that 67 hours of night time sleep does not equal 7 hours of day time sleep. So your body would get better charged sleeping from 10pm to 5 or 6 am than it would sleeping from 2 or 3 am to 9 or 10am. Both are 7 hour intervals but are not comparable at all in terms of quality.
If your diet is deficient and your BMI is low and you are showing signs of malnutrition and if you have sleep problems despite changes to life style and you do not have sleep apnea or any apparent metabolic cause for decreased dietary intake then you need psychologist help along with nutritional buildup.
