Talk to General Physician on Severe Cough
Asking For Wife, Female 32, Karachi
My wife suffering from severe cough without mucus some times vomiting due to severity of cough. Consulted several doctors general physicians and pulmonologists, cough stops for few days but could not cure permanently. latest chest X Ray was fine and Spirometry (Reversible) was also found OK as per pulmonologist, report attached. Cause diagnosed by the doctor is " smell allergy hy aur nazla andar ki taraf behta hy jo lungs mein girta hy". Currently taking attached prescription but no relief till now. Purpose of posting to get a second expert opinion and advise. Thanks in advance
Does she have fever? How many children do u have? Is she breast feeding? Did u get sputum analysis done? Is there any family history of respiratory diseases? Is she a working lady? If not what is your profession and where do u live? Please answer these questions precisely

Get her sputum culture done. Continue previous medicines and take Augmentin one gram twice daily one in the morning and one at night for one week. Then get my appointment. She will be better by then Insha Allah

Sir, She doesn't have fever. Yes she is feeding a baby girl, sputum analysis not done yet, I have two kids, She is a house wife. We don't have any respiratory disease in our family. Also, we don't have any animal/bird/dusty environment in our house. I'm an engineer by profession and living in Karachi.

Previously she was taking different Coough Syrups i.e Coferb, Actified, Acefyl, hydryllin etc and Tab. Kestine mostly in pregnancy period. currently she is taking medicines attached in my post since two months.
