please get spirometry and you will get to know if yours lungs are greatly affected or not. although it takes years to develop effects of smoking but it is a good practice to keep getting checked regularly. Also whatever are your results, try to cut down on smoking gradually as it is not the best of practices for your health.

Smoking causes a variety of diseases which usually depends upon the amount of cigarettes u smoke per day and the duration of time u r smoking from. Something called "pack year".
For now u can do a plain chest X-ray PA view and show it to a qualified doctor. If he finds something wrong he can advise further tests. There r some diseases related to smoking which r not detected on an X-ray, but if u don't have a cough or shortness of breath, I would avoid doing any more tests.
Chest x ray and spirometry test

pulmonary function tests (lung spirometery )
First of all quit smoking and then go for chest x-ray and pulmonary function tests. After getting these reports consult a pulmonologist.
Simply Had an Chest X-ray to look for any emphysematous findings, look for symptoms like chronic cough with sputum, weight loss or weight gain, barrel-shaped chest, any feeling of chest tightness/Shortness of breath.
Chest x Ray. If not conclusive then spirometry is the investigation of choice
How many cigarettes/day,
If chain smoker so affected lungs appear on xray,or u developed some symptoms like breathing problem on exertion then go for spirometry & xray both,it not necessary u can found any feature over xray, better to quit smoking it not only harmful for lungs, also for heart, stomach, kidneys, bones, vessels & lead to silent cancers.

smoking can damage lungs in many ways and can cause many conditions ranging from chronic bronchitis , Emphysema ( COPD) to , interstitial lung disease, Malignancy ( Cancer). So, the choice of investigation depends on the patient's symptoms/clinical condition. However , as a preliminary test I would recommend a CXR and Spirometry to assess the lungs function. These are simple and inexpensive.
spirometry or pulmonary function tests can be used, however for accurate test prescription after taking your detailed history is important.
kindly take appointment for detailed assessment and proper prescription. Regards

There are several tests that can be used to check the function of the lungs and the damage caused by smoking. Some common tests include:
Spirometry: This test measures how well the lungs are able to move air in and out. It can identify lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
Chest X-ray: A chest X-ray can show signs of damage to the lungs, such as emphysema or lung cancer.
CT scan: A CT scan can provide detailed images of the lungs and can identify abnormal growths or other signs of damage.
If indicated by the above tests, further tests may or may not consist of
Arterial blood gas test: This test measures the levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood, which can indicate how well the lungs are functioning.
Bronchoscopy: This test involves inserting a small camera through the nose or mouth to examine the airways and lungs.
Pulmonary function test: This test includes spirometry, lung volume measurement, and gas diffusion capacity, to evaluate how well the lungs are working.
It's important to note that some of these test are invasive and others are non-invasive, and might have some risks or side effects. It's important to consult with a GP or Chest Physician to decide which test is the most appropriate one based on the your individual history and health condition.
Chest xray, pulmonary function test
chest xray, and PFT ( pulmonary function test)
