Talk to General Physician on Weird Itchy Patch On Foot

person-avatar

Asking For Self, Male 30, Karachi

Hi.

A few months ago I noticed an itchy part on the top of my foot. After rigioursly scratching it. It became inflamed. At its height it looked like this (first photo). I applied corticosteroid cream and it started to go down. It took a few weeks to fully subside. Right now it's just a very small red patch that sometimes gets itchy and there are at times 1 or 2 very small fluid filled bumps that form over it (second photo) It gets itchy and then subsides. It hasn't gone to the level that is shown in the first photo again but there is still a pale red spot on my foot.

What can this be?

General Physician in Karachi - Dr. Omar Tariq Khan

Appears to be psoriasis. Differential would include a fungal infection or an allergic reaction. Kindly visit your local dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

It happened after I sat on grass. The grass was pressed against the top of my foot. the area is currently lightly red (second photo) but no other symptoms apart from occasional itching (which happens once or twice 1-2 weeks).

I think you can take an anti-allergy tablet like softin 10 mg once daily at night, for time being. if symptoms don't settle in a week or so, please see a dermatologist. keep the photographs handy and show them to dermatologist if need be.

An evaluation by a dermatologist (specialist) is required.

contact dermatitis probably. but still need a proper review. book an appointment for further treatment and to avoid risk of a serious disease left uncured.
