Cat Bite Diabetic Foot

Question

Cat bite my mother last night we got first aid with tetanus shot and voren, augmentin for pain. She is diabetic and she wounds are deep. Rabies is not available anywhere . Is the tetanus enough for her ? Also pls recommend any ointment for wounds and instructions

no u should get rabies with immunglobulin and also use fusicdin cream on it

clean wind first with pyodine, then daily with normal saline. Get the wound checked by a surgeon. Try Fucidin ointment twice daily for wounds.

but my suggestion the way you are telling is keeping wound clean and dry ,and get it checked physically as there is history of diabetes

can you please tell of your cat is vaccinated?or If it was a stray cat because if the cat is vaccinated then with tetanus she is fine. keep a good control of BSR, clean the wound daily with pyodine and alcohol swab and keep it dry. she can take painkiller if needed.

the treatment she is receiving is perfectly fine. tetanus is enough for her. regarding diabetes , make good control of her blood sugar,. to put antibacterial ointment like fusidic creme or betaderm creme
and put dressing over it

Do clean wound with normal saline and sterile gauze 2-3 times daily and pat dry
Apply fucidin ointment after wound cleaning...do search for rabies shot its better to get that....And for better wound healing do control her diabetes with proper medication if she is taking any and regular walk...and take readings of blood sugar level daily for a fasting level as well as random...if fasting more than 126mg/dl and random after 2 hr s of meal more than 200mg /dl then take her to diabetic clinic for diabetes control

if Vaccine not Available then start Antibotic
