Asking for Self, Female, 24 years old, Karachi

I have a sinus issue from last 1.5 years and whenever I get up I start sneezing and have runny nose. But from last 3 to 4 days I'm feeling that with runny nose I'm swallowing some thick substance something like mucus. I was fasting yesterday and from last night I'm having symptoms o fever like pain in shoulders and neck, weakness, burning eyes and mouth. From last night 10 pm till today 4 pm I've checked my fever 3 times and it's not 99 but 0.1 less than 99. I talked to one of my friend cum family doctor and she said that I have temperature and I should go for Covid test just in case. I'm so tensed, I don't know if should go for the test for Covid or dengue.

Please help.

runny nose and temperature less than 99 makes coronavirus less likely.
detailed history is yet needed to rule out.

You can discuss further if you want by booking online consultation.
Thanks

First of all relax as our normal body temp is 98.6 so 98.8 or 98.9 will not be considered fever.
Secondly this is the time of year when pollination occurs so people who have allergy issues have symptoms in these days.
For this take steam 2-3 times, drink hot water. and take Tb Fexet 1 OD for 3-4 days.
Third and most important thing, when to get covid test? Answer is if you have any travel, if u have any suspected or confirmed case in your close contacts with whom you have spent more than 15 minutes at less than 1 meter distance, or if you have been to a public place where there were people of all kind & haven't wear mask or have been there for more than an hour, only then you need to undergo covid test.
For dengue these symptoms are not specific, it will include laziness, fatigue and may be ull have some bruises on leg.
For safety purpose keep your self quarantined at home for a week or until your symptoms resolve

First of all, if you have been in close contact with any COVID-19 positive patient or any one who came from abroad, then you should go for COVID-19 test. If it is NOT the case, you should use the following medicines (if you are not pregnant):
Tab. Leflox (Levofloxacine) 500 mg (once daily for 7 days)
Tab. Myteka (Monteleukast) 10 mg (once at night time for 10 days)
Tab. Panadol CF (3 times daily for 5 days)
Steam inhalation 3 times a day for 5 days.
Leflox should not be used in pregnancy.

The symptoms don't seem like those of COVID-19. Relax, self quarantine for 2 weeks, take anti-histamine after consultation. You'll be fine.

there is no need for covid test if you have no contact history with a covid positive patient or anyone who have traveled abroad in past few days.
talking about your symptoms you are having allergy history positive & experieriencing allergic rhinitis with post nasal dribbing. body ache is common after fasting in innitial days of ramadan as our body is not used to of this routine. we don't call it over until the temp is above 100 even 99 is no fever.
all you need to do is to take steam inhalation of salt water. plus rhinoclenil nasal spray once at night for 1 month. & as the pandemic resolves consult an ent specialist for your sinusitis issue.
talking about precautions. avoid cold drinks & cold water. avoid any perfume/fragrances & mosquito coil.

Firstly, Do u have any travel history? Did u come in contact with any covid Patient? I will suggest you its least likely that u are suffering from covid so no need to panic. These are merely the symptoms of sinusitis. I will suggest you to limit your social circle. Stay home and hydrated. Keep monitering your Fever( Do charting) Take panadol if needed. Use nostrilla nasal spray just to lift up your nasal blockage. Take telefast 120mg once a day for 5 days. Do steam inhalation. Avoid allergen- Perfumes or anything that trigger your symptoms. Wear mask. Once covid is over, Contact ENT Specialist.
