Asking for Wife, Female, 29 years old, Hyderabad

Patient is 29 year old, 2-3 months pregnant and breastfeeding 18 month old child.

Problem is that there is a small cyst on right breast. Consulted a doctor few months ago who told it is superficial and not dangerous.

However, since last few days, it has become painful and red around it, seems like it has got pus inside.

Due to prevailing conditions, going to hospital and consulting doctor is not possible.

Respected citizen! I need to ask a few question before reaching out a diagnosis and prescribing treatment for above mentioned problem.
Does that cyst move in all direction or there is some restriction in its movement ?
Is it hard or soft to touch and any temperature difference ?
What is colour of pus?
Please tell me about these and then I'll tell you a better solution for this problem.
Thank you.

soak a cloth in warm water and place it on your breast to help relieve the pain – a warm shower or bath may also help

rest and drink lots of fluids

take paracetamol or ibuprofen to reduce any pain or fever

if you are breastfeeding, continue to breastfeed

start feeds with the sore breast first

express milk from your breast in between feeds

massage your breast to clear any blockages – stroke from the lumpy or sore area towards your nipple to help the milk flow.

don't take aspirin
don't wear tight fitting bra

take Tab Augmentin 625mg ( 8 hourly for 10 days
take Panadol or Brufen tablet for pain

It is acute mastitis, occurs in lactating mother. still get an U/S breast, get proper examination. Avoid feeding from this breast.
It may need Incision & drainage so Consult a facility where emergency surgery facility is available as due to prevailing situation no elective procedure or OPDs being carried out in Sindh

It's best to get pus c/s done before using any antibiotic.

General Practitioner in Toba Tek Singh - Dr. Zia Ullah

Patient's history does not confirm to the picture of the lesion. The lesion is suggestive of Tinea Corporis ie Fungal infection while the history depicts infected cyst or abscess.
Kindly answer the following questions:
1- Is there itching ?
2- Is it spreading superficially on the surface only (ie rather than going deeply) ?
3- Is there a red border with central clearing ?
If yes then it is TINEA CORPORIS
In suh a case apply
TERBISIL CREAM
twice a day for 7 days
