Different tests have different cut-offs and the fact that your test had less than 1 and you are not anywhere near there speaks on its own. In order to be positive, you need to have a reading above 1 with the test that has been used in your case. You do not have that reading, hence you do not have HIV. There isn’t such a thing like ‘the usual result’. Different people get different results.
Finally, the explanation that the virus is weak and that is why it does not show up is simply idiotic, as the ELISA tests do not find the virus, but antibodies to the virus. Those are two completely different things.
