Its better to avoid the pills as they can be very addictive and with time you’ll have to increase the dose. Still if you need it you can take a very mild one. Alp 0.25mg. But don’t take it for more than 7 consecutive days.

Its better to avoid sleeping pills at this age. Starting regular exercise can improve your sleeping behaviour. But if you still have insomnia, kindly consult a doctor. Don't start Sleeping pills without proper check up.

General Practitioner in Karachi - Dr. Maheen Altaf

WS. No it is not fine to take sleeping pills, without any absolute indication. Only allowed for patients with Epilepsy or with serious illness or psychotic issues.
Just do simple tactics. Fix your sleeping schedule. Avoid using any screen at least 2 hrs before sleep. Do muscle stretching before sleep.

waslam. Sleeping pills are of various types. Most common pills which include xanax, ativan , rivotril and lexotanil are called benzos. These can be taken for 2 weeks , however if they are taken for more duration their depenandance and tolerance occurs . Which means you have to take more dose in order to have adequate response. Lack of sleep is a symptom which has number of causes . In order for you to take a particular sleeping pill. First you have to rule out your cause of lack of sleep. which maybe stress, caffine intake , etc. for that you need a proper psychiatric evaluation. We have more safe and effective options for treatment of sleep problem

thank you
