Aslam o alikum.
For high sugar, if test is not possible... Keep eye on symptoms...
Tingling in feet and toes.
Poly urea, zayada urine Ana, especially at night.
Poly depsia, zayada payas lagna, especially at night.
Sar dard.
For low sugar, remember like person is floating in air.

And vommit feeling.

So if she has diabetes, remember please keep 2 tofees in purse. Because low sugar level are more dangerous than high levels. Keep glucometer of good company in always handy

Dear Hunaid, thanks for asking such an important part of treatment regime for your mother. According to you she is 46 ,mature enough to keep check on her
fasting and post prandial levels. Kindly make sure that if she is on insulin then monitor her levels accordingly and adjust the doses. Without any further delay consult your Dr for future plans

How long has she been suffering from it and what are her medicines? Is she on insulin? Is she hypertensive too? It is very important to check her sugar daily in order to maintain glycemic control. Get her HbA1C done and consult a diabetologist with a week's chart of her sugar levels. Check it at home by a glucometer once in the morning before breakfast (8 hrs fasting) and then before lunch and dinner. Incase you forget to check it before check it 2 hrs after the meals. She cannot consume sugar at all, eat more vegetables and no oily food either. She should walk atleast 40 mins daily, that helps control the sugar level the most. I have to emphasize here, no matter how many medicines or how much insulin a patient is on but the most important factor in sugar control is lifestyle modification which includes diet control and daily exercise.

It look like case of Neuropathy with Diabetes. Often it happens bcz diabetic patient start losing body senses which is darely caused by low or high sugar level, that's why straightly consult Diabetologist.
Keep using medicine recommended by ur doctor.
Test HbA1c is required for her sugar level + FSL + RSL. bcz we have to know that is it going to high level or low.
At home test buy a glucometer for the in time ckeck up.
She can't eat sweet things, if high.
If it go always to low sugar level then whatever sweet thing easily and quickly available like table sugar, take 2 to 3 spoons or more bcz low sugar level is life threatning. But not high.
Follow some diet plan and exercise or just walking for better control.
Furthermost tell me is she obese or not?
What medicines she is taking currently?
After that i will guide u more properly.
