Is ur father diabetic??? Or is he having any other problem like high BP or heart issue?? It depends on the symptoms... If he is having frequent episodes of pain and pain doesn't relieve by medicines, then we advise surgery.. Surgery can be open with a one single cut... Or it can be laparoscopic having 3 or 4 small cuts upto 1 cm or less.. In lay term ppl call it laser operation..
