Talk to General Surgeon on Inguinal Hernia

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Male, 19 years old, Rawalpindi

I was recently diagnosed with inguinal hernia, I am a 19yr old male. The doctor suggested immediate surgery. My father is a bit Concerned about the treatment and says it's too early. Is it best to get this hernia treated as soon as possible or should I wait. Also what kind of procedure is this surgery and are there any risks. Please I want your honest opinion, it will be of great help. (P. S the hernia is about the size of golf ball.)

ASA A hernia is a defect in the abdominal wall through which sometimes intestine can come out and get stuck and strangled. So now that u have a hernia it will not vanish on it self. Like if bricks are missing from a wall they will need to be replaced. The procedure and risks will be discussed on clinical examination and visit.

Only treatment for hernia is Surgery. The sooner the better. Because the biggest concern is that may strangulate the important structures if not operated.

. Without seeing your hernia , one can’t give you an exact opinion . But it will need an operation to fix , sooner the better

Get it operated to avoid complications.
Need to see a surgeon for checkup and for further information as why it needs to be operated and what if not operated.
