Talk to General Surgeon on Lump In Neck

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 23 years old, Islamabad

Just wanted to ask i have kind of a lump in posterior triangle left side. might be lymph node or lipoma m not sure. About 1cm, mobile , rubery consistency. Another one half its size on other side of neck behind sternocleidomastoid. Cant feel any more lymohnodes anywhere else.. Its been there for past 6-7 years when i first noticed them. They dont hurt, they are not changing.. I'm perfectly healthy no other medical history no complaints, except for mild anemia (hb 10.5) which i guess is iron deficiency. No other complaint.. Just wanted to know should i be concerned about this lump n get it checked or should i leave them as is? As they havent changed at all since i first noticed them

Asa Best would be to get an ultrasound of the whole neck and an FNAC or excisional biopsy

Appeared to be simple lump but can not be diagnosed unless taken out and biopsie.i will suggest you to consult surgeon near by you.

Lymphnode for such a while... Least likely... Clinically co-relate... Might be a long standing sebaceous cyst

I dont think its a sebacious cyst it doesnt feel like one. Though i do have history of lipomas in my family. Can it be lipoma? But it hasent changed at all in these 7 years.

Get FNAC done .... If it's not conclusive go for lymph node biopsy... It's not so simple to let it go. You need to see what it is and only than we can guide . So biopsy is mandatory

You seems to have good medical knowledge. These lumps must be examined after biopsy.

I think these nodes are there bcoz of those frequent pustules. If you are curious then just get an ultrasound scan of your neck. I think there is nothing to worry about. Stay blessed and healthy.
