Asking for Self, Female, 24 years old, Lahore
Hello Doctor, I am 24 years old with weight 72kg. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last month. Baby is healthy and active ALHUMDULILLAH but she is not getting full with my breast milk. She sucks well, keeps a good latch, but start crying even after sucking for more than an hour. My breast milk flow is also good but baby sleeps only after taking formula milk. Can you please guide me what can I do to fulfill the baby's requirements? Is there any kind of medication to enhace the strength of my milk?
Yes , drink plenty of fluids specially water, limit the formula as it’s less effort for the baby to suck on the bottle so they prefer formula.
Also just keep an eye on baby’s weight, if she is gaining weight then the feed is enough.congratulations on ur baby’s birth.
try breast feeding avoid formula milk
Formula milk is more sweet as compare to breast milk and less effort required for feeding from bottle as compared to breast
but quality of breast milk is much much higher then formula milk Try 10 minutes breast feeding from right breast then 10 min from left .Second feed after half an hour.Avoid formula milk
Drink plenty of fluid( water, milk, juices)+ consume healthy food. Avoid formula milk and feed on demand. If baby is gaining weight then nothing to worry.
continue Breast feeding
avoid formula milk
