Asking for Wife, Female, 25 years old, Dubai

Hi,

My wife is 16 week pregnant and got Hepatitis B positive, we are in Dubai and here doctors are asking to do the full diagnose test to check the issue. We have done LFT and PCR viral load, attached reports. Please check and advise if some other tests are required and treatment is required during pregnancy or not. Doctor have asked to do more test like Liver Fibroscan and HBeAg, and some other test as well.

Please advice.

Aoa follow their instructions. They know how to manage and investigate. Their system is very advance. If it is not covered by your company. Then through Marham discuss with gastroenterologist in Pakistan. Thanks

Dear Doctor, thank you for the reply. The problem is Hepatitis B investigation and treatment is not covered by any insurance company in UAE and all these tests are costing too much. That is why I want to know if the attached reports are fine and treatment for hepatitis can be skipped for the pregnancy period only.

Hello ..she is hepatitis b positive and other tests are normal . Don’t worry ..no need of any treatment during pregnancy ..use condom and get yourself vaccinated against hepatitis b Because partner is at high risk due to unprotected sex and secondly when your baby will be born the baby will need vaccination against hepatitis b as well as immunoglobulin before you start mother feed .it is blood born infection but does not transmitted to the baby before birth.after the delivery get your wife treatment for it .
