My AFI is 7.9cm with normal Doppler flow. my doctor has advised me to come for induction on 12th of Dec due to low AFI. Currently 36weeks 5days according to LMP. I want to have second opinion : My question is : 1. Should I go for induction on 12th of Dec or can I wait a little more? Or can I wait till my natural pain comes? 2. Does induction result in successful normal delivery? Also is it worth taking risk (meconium release) or should I go directly for c-section. How alarming is my situation? I have heard baby gets distressed due to prolonged labour and results in meconium release.
Thank you

- wellcome and thanks for preffering Marham for your health Consultation.
- Dear I don't know your previous history ,whole history of this pregnancy and don't have experience to examine you.
- but small baby with less afi need strict monitoring ,before and during labour ?
- small baby have more chances of abnormal heart bear during labour as done times unable to bear pain and in early labour could need emergency cesearean section .
- long labour could be more hazardous.
- small baby need strict electronic fetal monitoring and mode of delivery to be decided by treating obstetrician after Detailed Examination and discussion on history .
- every lady need to be treated Accordingly.
- Best of luck.
