Talk to Gynecologist on Use Of Folic Acid Dose

after 2 years of marriage I got pregnant......I am taking 5mg folic acid from first day when missed my period and have positive test result.........I have a question that whether 400mcg folic acid is sufficient ?and if some one is taking 5mg it will also be Ok or have some side effects......due to high dose.....Is 5mg a high dose during pregnancy?

5mg is required for diabetics. Epileptic. Previous history of pregnancy affected by neural tube defect. Otherwise 400microgram is recommended for low risk pregnancy

400 microgram is the dose, but there is no harm of 5mg
